Our client, a leading Structural Steel manufacturer is currently hiring a Project Manager to join their team in Kilkenny for projects in Dublin and Wexford. The company in question are experiencing rapid growth this year particulary in the Pharma & Life Sciences Sector. The successful candidate will join our clients well-established and growing Structural Team working on a variety of projects. This is a full time, permanent position, with great scope for career progression.
Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with internal and external project teams
- Undertake a variety of tasks, both project-related and business-oriented
- Commit to personal development and actively seek knowledge and experience
- Work proficiently in both 2D and 3D environments
- Deliver detailed drawings based on provided designs
- Provide technical guidance and support for project delivery
- Brief and supervise team members on work packages
- Assist in preparing options and scheme designs to meet project criteria
- Utilize software such as Robot, Revit, and other 3D modeling tools
- Liaise with team members to facilitate drawing preparation
- Engage in embodied carbon calculations and wider carbon assessments
- Foster good working relationships with peers in external companies
- Attend professional development events and expand personal network
- Assist with drafting fee proposals and scope of services
- Contribute to practice-wide initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Structural Engineering (Civil Engineering also considered)
- Minimum 7 years of experience dealing with Structures and Structural Steel.
- Working towards chartered membership of IEI or IstructE
- Experience in designing structural elements across various materials
- Understanding of structural design principles and site experience
- Awareness of industry challenges, including embodied carbon and low-carbon design
- Basic knowledge of Robot or other 3D software (desirable)
- Enthusiastic and takes pride in work
- Strong background in structural engineering
- Proactive and enjoys working on challenging projects
- Flexible, organized, and a good communicator
