Our client are currently looking to hire an assistant project manager to join their team in the south east. This role is open to a variety of locations across the south east.

This is an initial 1-year Contract Role & with follow on work highly likely.

Requirements

  • Collaborate in developing comprehensive project briefs.
  • Prepare budgets for proposed capital programs, ensuring projects align with agreed budgets.
  • Manage Minor Works lists, select contractors for bid purposes, and recommend tenders for acceptance.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including permissions, licenses, certificates, and approvals.
  • Liaise with relevant agencies to define requirements for design services, buildings, and equipment.
  • Assist in procuring design teams, professional services, and building contractors for projects.
  • Support procurement processes and assist in preparing and submitting project documentation for approvals.
  • Develop action plans for timely contract completion and supervise staff in implementing agreed programs.
  • Work with service management or relevant agencies to initiate and conduct the equipping/commissioning phase.
  • Manage and control project timescales, budgets, and expenditures within agreed quality standards.
  • Ensure agreed specifications are met before building handover.
  • Achieve targets and complete agreed programs within allocated budgets.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization, demonstrating proactive commitment to communications with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Possessing a relevant degree (QQI Level 8) in Engineering, Surveying, or Architecture
  • Having a minimum of five years relevant experience in a construction project management role, including sufficient experience in the construction or maintenance of large complex buildings
  • Having a minimum of two years’ experience in managing operational budgets in a complex work environment
