Our client is currently recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager to join their Capital & Estates Department in the Meath and North East Area. This role will cover areas in the North East such as Cavan, Monaghan, Louth & Meath.

This is an initial 1-year Contract Role with great potential for further extension.

This role provides a range of professional, technical, project management, property, energy , sustainability, fire and safety and related services in respect of the procurement, development, operation and maintenance of the client’s physical infrastructure – including lands, buildings, plant and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise the delivery of major & minor capital works throughout the area of responsibility as well as managing specific Minor & Major projects within the program.
  • Develop in consultation with relevant staff and experts, maintenance plans for buildings, services, and equipment.
  • Ensure that buildings, services, and equipment under their supervision meet safety and maintenance standards outlined in approved programs.
  • Collaborate with the the Property Manager to ensure adherence to property protocols and handle assigned property-related tasks such as assessing the physical infrastructure of the organizations property portfolio and ensuring that all property transactions conform to statutory requirements  Establish fire prevention measures in coordination with the Fire & Safety Officer.
  • Offer guidance on energy efficiency and collaborate with service personnel and advisors to ensure efficient energy use in the organization’s facilities. Advise on facilities and environmental concerns alongside service personnel and other Capital & Estates personnel, and advisors.

Requirements

  • Hold a Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland major academic award in Architecture, Engineering or Surveying accredited by the relevant Professional Institute
    or
    Have Membership of the relevant professional association:
    – Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland
    – Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
    – Engineers Ireland
    – Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland
  • Have at least five years’  in planning, design, project management or construction of buildings or in the installation or maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and heating services of such buildings

Knowledge & Experience

  • A high level of expertise and experience regarding the construction of buildings and building services and an understanding of the maintenance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety legislation and a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards
  • Leaderships and teamwork skills with the ability to work with multi-disciplinary team members
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to facilitate and train other team members
  • Experience as an Electrical Engineer would be an advantage
