Civil Design Engineer

We are recruiting a Civil Design Engineer with 2 to 3 years of experience on behalf of our client, to join their Galway office.Our client is a the the UK & Ireland’s largest multidisciplinary engineering consultancy working across multiple sectors; providing Civil, Structural, Mechanical & Electrical, Sustainability and Traffic engineering design and consultancy, project management and PSDP services.

This position is well-suited for a motivated, hands-on, and adaptable individual who aspires to work in a forward-thinking and innovative design consultancy. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the execution of various projects spanning diverse sectors. Our client is recognized as a CPD Employer by Engineers Ireland and holds accreditation as a ‘Keepwell’ Employer.

Civil Design Engineer – The Position

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that design tasks are carried out in accordance with the client’s specifications.

Civil Design Engineer – Required skills and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrable experience of up to 3 years in post-graduate work involving the design of Civil projects, including Roads and Drainage.
• Proficiency in using design software like AutoCAD, Revit, Civils 3D, Site 3D, or similar tools related to Civil Engineering.
• Competency in MS Word and Excel.
• Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Desired Qualifications

• Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• Previous design experience within the UK/Irish Construction market.
• Possession of a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• More than 3 years of civil design experience in a consultancy, focusing on civil-related projects, with a strong grasp of civil engineering design in compliance with Euro codes.
• Familiarity with Civil Engineering products, including drainage design, road design, and various infrastructure components such as pipes, manholes, shafts, and cover slabs.
• Past involvement in commercial, education, and residential sectors.
• Membership in or progress toward membership in a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE) and an aspiration to achieve Chartered Engineer status.
