Our client is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to join their team in Dublin. Our client is a leading civil engineering consultancy operating across Commercial, Residential, Industrial and Transport sectors.

  • Supporting the preparation of tender documents and conducting tender assessments.
  • Managing tender site investigation activities.
  • Demonstrating proficient knowledge of Eurocodes and executing designs compliant with Eurocodes for various materials like steel, timber, concrete, and masonry. This includes supervising design tasks assigned to engineers and graduates.
  • Handling complex design projects such as deep foundations, transfer structures, torsional beams, and flat slabs.
  • Developing calculation packages for both manual and computer-based designs and verifying calculations performed by engineers and graduates.
  • Creating specification documents.
  • Collaborating with senior staff to progress projects from scheme design to completion, involving coordination with other team members and clients.
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Assisting senior engineers in meeting project schedules and milestones.
  • Supervising the preparation of technical reports and engaging with other disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Reviewing Navisworks and Revit models, overseeing drawing development, and coordinating with various disciplines.
  • Maintaining effective communication within the design team.
  • Adhering to quality management procedures, including timesheet management, and mentoring junior team members in quality management system procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols outlined in the Safety Manual.
  • Preparing designer risk assessment forms and liaising with the PSDP.
  • Conducting site inspections, generating BCAR reports, and assisting in ancillary certificate preparations.


  • Degree Level 8 in Civil Engineering or higher
  • Excellent understanding of the basics of mechanics and a strong grasp of complex structural design principles.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage delegated tasks to ensure timely delivery. Proficient in delegating and monitoring tasks for junior team members.
  • Ability to keep track of deadlines and project milestones.
  • Assist with project financial management, including WBS, invoicing and periodic reviews. Understands fee proposals and project scopes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong ability to use finite element packages such as Autodesk Robot, Tekla Structural Designer, CADS A3D, and other standalone design packages, including CADS Masonry panel designer and Tedds Designs.
