Commercial Manager

We are working on behalf of our client recruiting a Commercial Manager to join their growing water and wastewater business in Galway. This individual will be required to provide commercial support, managing for all aspects of their costs, including tendering  reporting, sub-contracts etc. The successful candidate will have a clear path to progress into a Director position.

Responsibilities:

• Provide contractual advice to the project and proposal teams
• Commercial control of the business unit
• Identity and manage the business unit risk and regularly review project risks
• Validation of all tenders and budgets
• Manage the close of completed projects to the best commercial advantage of the company
• Regularly review business processes and promote evolution of better working practices
• To ensure all projects are driven to provide the best value solutions and delivered on time and within budget
• Risk management
• Management & submission of monthly interim valuations
• Provide advice and support to Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement and Project Admin staff
• Provide project costing, margin & cashflow reports
• Budget forecasting
• Maximizing cash flow
• Claims Management
• Negotiating with suppliers on large ticket items
• Monthly CVR reporting

Requirements:

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline
• 10 years experience working for a main contractor or large subcontractor
• Strong commercial awareness
• Excellent client liaison skills
