Our client, a prestigious Main Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Planner for Data Centre projects in Dublin.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of construction projects, from inception to completion including developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, as well as monitoring progress and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning:
    • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining the scope, objectives, and deliverables.
    • Create project schedules, timelines, and milestones.
    • Identify and allocate necessary resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
    • Determine project budgets and continuously monitor and control costs.
  2. Risk Assessment:
    • Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines and budgets.
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  3. Coordination:
    • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
    • Ensure effective communication and coordination between all parties involved in the project.
    • Facilitate regular project meetings to discuss progress, issues, and updates.
  4. Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, schedules, contracts, and change orders.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for project stakeholders and management.
  5. Quality Control:
    • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulations.
    • Implement quality control procedures and address non-compliance issues promptly.
  6. Time and Cost Management:
    • Track project progress and identify deviations from the plan.
    • Implement strategies to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  7. Procurement:
    • Manage the procurement process for materials and services required for the project.
    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  8. Health and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on the construction site.
    • Implement safety measures and protocols to protect workers and visitors.
  9. Change Management:
    • Assess and manage change requests and variations in project scope.
    • Evaluate the impact of changes on the project schedule and budget.
  10. Client Relations:
    • Maintain positive relationships with clients and provide regular updates on project status.
    • Address client concerns and provide solutions to issues that may arise during the project.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 3rd level qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years proven experience as a construction project planner on large scale projects
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of construction regulations, codes, and safety standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.
