Design Engineer (Civil)

We are recruiting a Design Engineer on behalf of our client, one of Ireland leading Engineering Consultancies for their office in Dublin. The successful candidate will be part of their growing in-house design team delivering civil engineering, roads and transportation design in the transportation industry.

Responsibilities  

• Develop and review of preliminary designs and reports using a variety of computer packages and subsequent preparation of detailed design drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of AutoCad 2D and 3D will be essential. 
• Arrangement of Drawings using a varied packages such as AutoCAD 2D/3D, Site 3D, MX Roads and ArcGIS. 
• Preparation of tenders.  
• Organization and liaison with Clients and Regulatory Agencies 
• Procurement of Site Investigation, Civil Engineering Works and Roads Contracts including preparation of pricing schedules and Bills of Quantities. 
• Management of the construction contracts to ensure that design requirements, project schedules and project budget are achieved.  

Requirements

• Relevant Civil Engineering Degree (Level 9 Masters Degree would be an advantage)
• 2 – 5 years experience as a civil design engineer (Preferably within Road & Transportation)
• Clear communication skills accompanied by values of Teamwork and Leadership. 
• Proficiency with Software packages such as MicroDrainage and or similar drainage design software would be an advantage. 
• Knowledge of construction contracts such as GCCC Forms of Contract.
