EHS Advisor – Midlands

Sonas Technical are looking to recruit an EHS Advisor based in Westmeath for our client who are an internationally recognised leader in Fire Protection Systems. They are internationally approved to Design, Manufacture, Install, Service & Commission.

Key Responsibilities  

• Interface across Operations Teams to ensure ownership of EHS responsibilities across the Organisation and actively lead improvement in Health & Safety culture and competency;
• Coordinate Health & Safety initiatives across the company
• Support EHS improvement actions that are applicable to all sites.
• Drive and support site EHS performance improvement plans to ensure continual improvement of EHS results;
• Monitor, evaluate, and initiate actions to reduce incident frequency, focusing on workforce and management engagement;
• Develop and cascade annual Health & Safety objectives / targets;
• Coordinate the development and implementation of project / site EHS inspections to comply with any new regulatory, customer or company requirements.
• Develop and implement EHS Policy;
• Lead EHS communication with external parties such as Regulators, Contractors, Customers, and other Stakeholders;
• Work with Operations Departments to promote the sharing of good EHS practices / return of experience;
• Lead the evolution of EHS culture & strategy within the company by developing and implementing an EHS Mission Plan;
• Development of a toolbox talks schedule and the delivery of these toolbox talks;
• Conduct and continually review compliance training gap analysis and organise training courses including the evaluation of these courses;
• Any other duties in line with the Health and Safety requirements of the business

Key Requirements 

• Diploma or Degree qualified
• 3 years post qualification experience in a construction environment
• Experience of working across multiple sites;
• A full clean driving licence;
• Experience of working with a mechanical and electrical contractor would be desirable
• Qualified Manual handling instructor desirable
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
• Experience in accredited management systems (ISO9001 and Safe T Certificate);
