Health and Safety Manager

Our client, a leading Construction company in their respective field, are seeking to hire a HSE Manager in Swords, Dublin.

The successful hire will oversee the implementation of EHS management systems and assume responsibility for day-to-day EHS activities for projects nationwide.

Responsibilities 

• Provide Health, Safety and Sustainability support to delivery teams and stakeholders
• Ensure consistent implementation of company standards, procedures, policies and expectations.
• Ensure workplaces are audited / risk reviewed at a frequency and with intrusiveness in accordance with policy and direction set by Head of HSEQS
• Development of a strong safety culture
• Review of contractor RAMS, supporting plans, permits and training records
• Responsible for fault reporting and taking necessary corrective action in conjunction with engineering teams
• Internal reporting of H&S and Environmental metrics
• Assist tender and prequalification teams where requested advising on Health and Safety concerns as well as helping provide practical solutions
• Completion of relevant documentation outlining progress etc
• Accident investigation and identification of corrective and preventative actions
• Represent the Company to various external bodies including Clients, Government enforcement agencies and client
• Liaising with client’s representatives while on site including attendance at meetings
• Issue and develop performance reports and policies to Construction Director
• Provide EHS training to departments

Requirements 

• NEBSOH Diploma in OHS or equivalent and/or higher
• +3 years relevant experience in Construction & Engineering, preferably with a Tier 1 Building Contractor
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
