Health & Safety Advisor (Dublin Airport)

Sonas Technical are currently seeking an experienced Health & safety advisor for a projects based across Dublin airport. As part of the role you will be in charge of enforcing company procedures and making sure employees are adhering to Health & Safety guidelines. This is a full time permanent position for the successful candidate. The role will involve a mixture of being site at the airport and office based work.

Duties

➢ Assisting in maintenance of the Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Quality Management Systems and to ensure continued compliance with OHSAS 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001.

➢ Carrying out inductions

➢ Producing monthly statistics

➢ Champion Culture Development Programme (behaviour-based safety programme)

➢ Carry out and document site audits and inspections

➢ Keeping up to date with changes in safety, health and environmental legislation and construction industry guidance.

➢ Ensuring personnel on site have the pre-requisite training records

➢ Investigating, logging and monitoring of Incidents and Non-conformances

➢ Completing all necessary report forms

➢ Identifying significant safety impacts for work areas and helping set-up of appropriate controls

➢ Ensure all safety and environmental records are kept and readily available

➢ Prepare and present toolbox talks as and when required

➢ Prepare and present at monthly safety meetings

➢ Review subcontractor documentation

Qualifications, experience & skills

➢ Relevant 3rd level qualification in health and safety

➢ Minimum of 3 years relevant experience on civil engineering/construction sites

➢ Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with one or more teams,

➢ Good written and spoken communication abilities,

➢ Good IT skills with a high attention to detail,

➢ A flexible and proactive approach,

➢ Demonstrate leadership skills

➢ Implementing and rolling out behaviour based programmes

➢ Experience working on heavy civil engineering projects (deep excavations, lifting, confined space, etc.)
