Our client are seeking experienced Hydraulic Modellers to join their team in Galway / Limerick / Dublin. Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy firm working across the Civil, Water, and Transportation sector.

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications or training in hydraulic modelling software, such as Synergi, would be highly beneficial.
  • Essential previous experience in hydraulic modelling and pressure management within the water industry.
  • Proficiency in using Synergi software for hydraulic modelling and analysis is imperative.
  • Competence in utilizing Infoworks ICM, Microdrainage, or other industry-standard software for hydraulic modelling of wastewater and drainage networks.
  • Experience conducting pressure management studies, including identifying areas for pressure reduction, assessing network performance, and optimizing pressure management strategies.
  • Familiarity with water distribution and wastewater system design, operation, and maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of design risk assessment and adherence to positive health and safety behaviors.

Technical Skills

  • Profound knowledge and comprehension of hydraulic principles, network analysis, and water distribution system modelling.
  • Expertise in using Synergi or similar hydraulic modelling software for network analysis, pipe sizing, pressure zone delineation, and pressure management simulation.
  • Ability to develop and calibrate hydraulic models, encompassing data collection, network data entry, and verification.
  • Capability to interpret and analyze hydraulic modelling results to offer recommendations for pressure management enhancements.
  • Understanding of GIS (Geographic Information System) tools and their integration with hydraulic modelling software.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Aptitude to analyze intricate hydraulic systems, recognize performance issues, and suggest appropriate pressure management solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot hydraulic modelling issues, rectify errors, and ensure model accuracy.
  • Capacity to interpret and present data clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to compile reports, present findings, and engage with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborative approach to effectively work as part of a team and engage with professionals from diverse disciplines, including engineers, planners, and project managers.

Project Management

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects concurrently, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage data, documentation, and project coordination effectively.
