- Assist in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work and project requirements.
- Collaborate with senior estimators to gather necessary data and information for cost estimation.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and perform detailed measurements of project components.
- Research and gather pricing information from suppliers, subcontractors, and other relevant sources to ensure accurate cost estimation.
- Prepare and maintain project cost databases, including historical cost data and reference materials.
- Assist in the preparation of project bids and proposals, ensuring they are comprehensive and aligned with client requirements.
- Review and analyze project bids received from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure completeness and competitiveness.
- Support the development and maintenance of relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to facilitate cost estimation processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material prices to enhance cost estimation accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the commercial or residential construction industry.
- Solid understanding of construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Some experience using construction estimating software and tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to accurately analyze project requirements and perform quantity take-offs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, taking direction and guidance from Senior Estimator.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and processes in construction estimating.
