Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work and project requirements.
• Collaborate with senior estimators to gather necessary data and information for cost estimation.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and perform detailed measurements of project components.
• Research and gather pricing information from suppliers, subcontractors, and other relevant sources to ensure accurate cost estimation.
• Prepare and maintain project cost databases, including historical cost data and reference materials.
• Assist in the preparation of project bids and proposals, ensuring they are comprehensive and aligned with client requirements.
• Review and analyze project bids received from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure completeness and competitiveness.
• Support the development and maintenance of relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to facilitate cost estimation processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material prices to enhance cost estimation accuracy.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the commercial or residential construction industry.
• Solid understanding of construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Some experience using construction estimating software and tools.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to accurately analyze project requirements and perform quantity take-offs.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, taking direction and guidance from Senior Estimator.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and processes in construction estimating.
