Junior Quantity Surveyor

We are currently seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our client in Dublin. The client in question are a leading Main Contractor covering a range of sectors including new builds, remodelling, refurbishment, renovation, fit-out works, specialist plastering, and cutting-edge fire protection and containment services. This is a full-time, permenent position to join a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, taking into account materials, labor, and overheads.
• Participate in the tendering process, including reviewing and analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Monitor project costs, track variations, and implement cost control measures to ensure projects stay within budget.
• Assist in the preparation and administration of contracts, including evaluating contract terms and conditions.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs and measurements to ensure accurate bill of quantities (BoQ) preparation.
• Assist in the preparation of interim and final valuations for subcontractors and clients.
• Generate financial reports and forecasts to provide project stakeholders with accurate cost information.
• Identify and assess potential risks and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Irish construction regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of post-graduate experience in the Irish construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft, BIM).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet deadlines.
