Mechanical Engineer

Our client, a well established Engineering Consultancy, is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for building projects throughout Dublin. The client in questions operate across several sectors including infrastructure, transport, healthcare, residential, commercial, industrial and sustainability across the private and public sectors in Ireland. You will be responsible for the engineering design and design management tasks on projects as part of an integrated project team. This is a full time, permanent position, with great scope for career progression.

Responsibilities:

• Working directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions.
• Develop and agree design processes and design deliverables.
•  Pre-Construction Engineering activities and the production of information including, design development, construction details, services coordination, technical submittals, sub-contracts, etc.
• Prepare technical submissions and reports for Client approval.
• Generate contract programmes of work.
• Monitor and update the progress of projects against the Contract Programme.
• Schedule resources and contractors to ensure the delivery schedule is met.
• Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for upcoming works.
• Implement the Project Quality Control procedures.
• Financial tracking of projects and reporting.
• Site liaison and with cub-contractors and Client Project & Resident Engineers.
• Site surveys and generation of works packages.
• Maintain and update the Site Safety Files ensuring full compliance with current HSA regulations.
• Attend site for safety audits, project supervision
• Update drawings for construction

Requirements:

• Strong technical ability in all aspects of Mechanical Engineering Services & Design
• Third level diploma / degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• 3 years relevant experience, ideally in a design consultancy environment
• Knowledge & experience of current CIBSE an Ashrae Design Guides, Building Regulations, EN and IEC Standards
• Experience in Hevacomp, AutoCAD and MS Office Suite Software
• Experience of client, vendor & contractor interaction & management
• Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to work well with others in a multifunctional project team.
• Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
