Our client, is currently on the lookout for a Project Engineer to join their team in Dublin. They are the modular wiring specialists, assisting in the rapid install of electrical fit-outs by manufacturing the electrical system offsite, while the building is being constructed onsite. This parallel processing approach dramatically reduces install time. They design and deliver a fully tested and complete ‘plug-and-play’ system, enabling a rapid fit-out onsite. This is a full time, permanent position, with great scope for career progression.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the project team throughout the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Design and Build Packages, from concept design to completion on-site.
- Conduct design reviews with external consultants and in-house project team to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Carry out due diligence reviews and designs of electrical services installations, including LV distribution systems, cable containment, general services, lighting, and safety systems.
- Support the commercial team by providing technical reviews, constructability assessments, value engineering, and modularization options during the tender stage and throughout the project life cycle.
- Establish project objectives aligned with client requirements and ensure goals and timelines are achieved.
- Liaise with senior management to provide regular project performance updates.
- Demonstrate leadership, effective decision-making, and teamwork throughout the project.
- Participate in project team meetings and technical workshops with clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, third-party specialists, and construction teams to develop commissioning programs.
- Ensure compliance with project-specific Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR) requirements.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with clients.
- Review and modify designs using electrical engineering software and design packages such as Dialux, Amtech, and AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in using Navisworks and Revit MEP for high-level reviews of BIM models, spatial coordination, and constructability assessments.
- Prepare technical submittals and manage the flow of Requests for Information (RFIs) during the design and construction phase.
- Manage project schedules and monitor quality and progress through regular site inspections using tablet-based software.
- Issue site reports and progress updates.
- Manage information flow on cloud-based file-sharing platforms with clients.
- Occasionally contribute to DALI Lighting Control Projects from a technical perspective.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BEng Tech Level 7) in Electrical Services Engineering or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in an Electrical Project Engineering role in Ireland.
- Thorough understanding of the typical electrical project life cycle, from concept design to project handover.
- Knowledge of electrical standards such as IS 10101, IEC Standards, IS 3217, IS 3218, and TGD Guidance documents.
- Proficiency or familiarity with engineering software tools such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Dialux, and Amtech.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite software packages.
- Familiarity with project management tools like Microsoft Project or Asta Power Project.
- Basic cost management knowledge, including working within budgets and monitoring project costs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and understanding of customer/client relationship management in project management.
- Experience in the modular construction industry (Desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge of working with SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model) or IES (Integrated Environmental Solutions) (Desirable but not essential).
- Experience in managing the BCAR process for M&E projects (Desirable but not essential).
- Basic knowledge of mechanical services design and site installation( Desirable but not essential).
- Background in electrical trade (Desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge of lighting control systems (Desirable but not essential).
- Familiarity with modular wiring systems (Desirable but not essential).
