Quality Engineer

A leading tier 1 Main Contractor are actively looking for a Quality Engineer in Dublin.  As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance throughout all phases of our construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement quality control processes, conduct inspections, and collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality control procedures, processes, and systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor the quality of construction materials, workmanship, and adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to establish quality requirements, resolve quality-related issues, and ensure effective communication and coordination.
• Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify potential quality risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities and deviations from quality standards.
• Monitor and track construction progress, document quality-related data, and generate reports to provide project stakeholders with accurate and timely information on quality performance.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance quality awareness and promote a culture of continuous improvement among project teams and subcontractors.
• Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to construction quality control, and recommend process improvements and innovative solutions.
• Participate in project meetings, pre-construction meetings, and quality control meetings to provide expert input and contribute to decision-making processes.
• Foster strong relationships with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to promote collaboration and maintain compliance with quality standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven work experience as a Quality Engineer in the construction sector, with a focus on large-scale projects.
• Solid understanding of construction processes, codes, regulations, and quality control standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and resolve quality-related issues.
