Quantity Surveyor

My Client are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 5 years of experience to become a part of their dynamic commercial construction team. This role is driven by the development of both new and ongoing projects.

Working in collaboration with the Project Director/Contracts Manager, you will play an integral role within the commercial and construction teams, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, fostering relationships, optimizing commercial returns, and mitigating risks.

Your Responsibilities:

• Preparation of tenders, thorough analysis, selection of suitable subcontractors, negotiation, and finalization of subcontractor orders.
• Financial and commercial management of subcontractors, overseeing activities up to the completion of the Final Account.
• Management and reporting of forecasts, targets, reconciliations, site records, document control, variation reporting, valuations, and contributing to site records and document control.
• Collaboration with the site management team, providing commercial influence and challenges, all while safeguarding the commercial and contractual rights of the company.
• Supervision and oversight of Assistant Quantity Surveyors (AQS) and Trainee Quantity Surveyors (TQS), including checking and taking responsibility for their work and addressing SMM/measurement issues.

Qualifications:

• Relevant third-level qualification and chartered registration.
• 5+ years of experience in construction quantity surveying.
• 5+ years of experience reporting on forecasts, budgets, targets, and reconciliations.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
