My client, one of the top civil engineering companies in the world is actively looking for a Railways Senior Project Manager/ Associate Director.

 

The role requires attendance to the Client’s offices in Cork at least 3 days per week. This company is currently based in Central Dublin but would welcome applications from candidates based in Cork or willing to be present in Cork at least 3 days per week.

Your role will be that of leading a relevant Railway Project in the Area of Cork and act as the portfolio lead for the delivery of our railways projects in Ireland.

You will be embedded in the UK&I Transportation & Infrastructure team reporting to the Infrastructures UK&I Director and working collaboratively to deliver our most emblematic UK and Irish Railways Projects: Cork Area Commuter Rail, HS2 Phase 1 (All lots) amongst others.

Projects include all stages of design from feasibility to detailed design and site construction supervision both UK and Ireland. Our clients are a mix between Public Clients and Contractors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing, expanding and developing key client
  • Manage project work on a day-to-day basis and ensure that the work is delivered within the agreed timescale and budgets
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary design of railways projects.
  • Commercial management of projects. Acting as primary client contact for cost and commercial related reporting and quality assurance.
  • Resource management for the project.
  • Line management responsibility for the development and performance management of other team members to support the development of the company’s business.
  • Working to continually improve services and drive innovation.

 

Skills/Qualifications

  • Chartered Civil Engineering and/or membership of a recognised body
  • 10 years or more experience in rail/railway infrastructure design
  • 10 years or more in a Programme Manager/Senior Project manager role
  • Experience in NEC Contracts.
  • Experience in preliminary design and planning/statutory process.
  • Experience in Business Development and Tender preparation.
  • Experience engaging with Clients, external stakeholders and subconsultants
  • Oral Hearing experience, desirable
  • Flexible and good team player
