We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BIM Engineer specializing in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Building Services to join our client in Dublin.

As a Senior BIM Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development, coordination, and implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for M&E projects. Your expertise in BIM software, knowledge of M&E systems, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will be essential in delivering high-quality projects and driving innovation within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of BIM strategies, standards, and workflows for M&E projects, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and project requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to establish BIM execution plans, including defining deliverables, modeling requirements, and coordination procedures specific to M&E systems.
  • Utilize your technical expertise to provide guidance and support to project teams, ensuring efficient utilization of BIM tools and software for M&E system design and coordination.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to enhance the BIM skills of team members, promoting awareness of industry advancements and emerging technologies within the M&E field.
  • Collaborate with project managers and discipline leads to define project-specific BIM goals, deliverables, and milestones, ensuring their successful completion.
  • Oversee clash detection and resolution processes, ensuring seamless coordination and integration of M&E systems in accordance with project requirements.
  • Review and validate BIM models to ensure quality assurance, compliance with standards, and adherence to project specifications for M&E systems.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and clients, to facilitate effective BIM collaboration, model exchange, and coordination meetings specific to M&E disciplines.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in BIM software, technologies, and industry standards, proactively recommending innovative solutions to enhance workflows and improve project outcomes for M&E projects.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the BIM team and across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a BIM Engineer role within the building services industry, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD MEP, as well as other relevant tools and plugins.
  • Strong understanding of M&E systems and their integration within building designs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing BIM standards and protocols specific to M&E disciplines.
  • Familiarity with clash detection and coordination software, along with a track record of successfully resolving clashes and conflicts in complex M&E systems.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and effectively prioritize tasks in the context of M&E engineering.
