Senior CAD Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior CAD Technician to join our client’s team, based out of their Dublin HQ. Our client is a the the UK & Ireland’s largest multidisciplinary engineering consultancy working across multiple sectors; providing Civil, Structural, Mechanical & Electrical, Sustainability and Traffic engineering design and consultancy, project management and PSDP services.

The Senior CAD Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers by producing detailed drawings and models. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in AutoCAD, a strong understanding of construction techniques, and a grasp of Mechanical and Electrical principles. Familiarity with building regulations in Ireland and/or the UK is essential. Attention to detail, excellent communication, and teamwork skills are also key attributes for this role. The Senior CAD Technician will work in accordance with a quality assurance system, including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 19650 standards.

Senior CAD Technician – Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with M&E Design Engineers to produce detailed drawings and models for various projects.
• Utilize AutoCAD to create accurate and comprehensive design documentation.
• Demonstrate an understanding of construction techniques and sequences of work to facilitate design development.
• Apply knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical principles to ensure compatibility with project requirements.
• Interpret and apply building regulations in Ireland and/or the UK to meet compliance standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project workflow.
• Adhere to a quality assurance system, including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 19650 standards, to maintain high-quality output.
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the role.

Senior CAD Technician – Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques and sequences of work.
• Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical principles.
• Familiarity with building regulations in Ireland and/or the UK.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.
• Experience working in a quality assurance system, including ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 19650, is an advantage.
• Exceptional attention to detail.

Experience:

• 5-10 years of experience as a CAD Technician in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated experience working on projects in Ireland and/or the UK is preferred.
