Senior Engineer

Our client, is currently on the lookout for a Senior Engineer for Cork. Ambitious, growing contractor based in Cork. Building and Civil Engineering works across Life & Food Science, Education, Retail & Commercial, Fit Out, and Health sectors. This is a full time, permanent position, with great scope for career progression.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for the successful execution of construction projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Lead the design development process throughout the complete project lifecycle, including planning, design, and construction phases.
• Manage and coordinate stakeholders, both internally and externally, to ensure effective communication and timely project delivery.
• Procure, oversee, and coordinate a diverse range  expertise across various disciplines, including Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Quantity Surveying.
• Develop and implement project plans, including cost estimation, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
• Monitor project progress, identify deviations from plans, and implement corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and suppliers, to drive effective project execution and resolve any technical challenges.
• Oversee the preparation of project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and construction contracts.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications, and address any construction-related issues.
• Oversee that all setting out procedures are being performed to the highest standards.
• Supervise and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Mentor and oversee Junior Engineers.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in civil engineering and construction.

Requirements

• Hold a relevant bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a Engineering related field.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering or construction.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles, structural analysis, and construction techniques.
• Proven track record in successfully managing civil and construction projects of varying scales and complexity.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications used in civil engineering and construction project management.
• Familiarity with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
