We are recruiting a Senior Hydraulic Modeller, on behalf of our client a large Multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy headquartered in Galway. The successful candidate will join the Civil / Water Division.

Degree educated (Required) candidates with a range of 5-7 years’ experience in hydraulic modelling and pressure management within the water industry is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Hydraulic Modeling Leadership: Lead and manage the water network modeling division, taking charge of projects involving large-scale capital works design, water quality improvement, and network optimization.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the delivery of critical water network infrastructure programs across Ireland, ensuring high-quality outcomes from feasibility assessment and pioneering to construction design, operational support, and optimization.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply advanced expertise in hydraulic modeling to assess and pioneer innovative solutions, contributing to the overall design and optimization of water network projects.
  • Operational Support: Provide technical support during the operational phase of water network projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address challenges and ensure efficient project performance.
  • Divisional Growth and Development: Contribute to the growth and development of the water network modeling division by introducing strategic initiatives, expanding capabilities, and fostering a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Stay abreast of industry advancements and best practices in hydraulic modeling, incorporating innovative techniques and methodologies into project delivery and optimization processes.
  • Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to understand project requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment with overall program objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and uphold stringent quality assurance measures to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of hydraulic modeling outcomes, meeting and exceeding industry standards.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in using Synergi software for hydraulic modelling and analysis is a must..
  • Familiarity with software packages like MicroDrainage or similar drainage design software is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with water distribution and wastewater system design, operation, and maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with design risk assessment and positive health and safety behaviours
