We are working on behalf of our client, a leading Multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy headquartered in Cork, recruiting a Senior Project Engineer to join their Roads & Bridges team.

You will join a dedicated team of consultant engineers, and scientists who are committed to providing bespoke solutions for our clients, on a diverse range of projects. This role will suit candidates with 10 years plus, post graduate experience, who will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package and the opportunity to work on challenging and varied projects, within a close-knit team of engaging individuals.

Senior Project Engineer – Skills / Qualifications Required:

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited engineering programme.
  • Chartered with a relevant professional body.
  • 10 years plus, post graduate experience in the design and supervision of bridge rehabilitation, replacement projects, and of roads or other civil works.
  • Excellent knowledge of current government forms of contract documentation is essential.
  • Current experience of leading, managing and running, Civil engineering design projects, preferably in the consultancy sector.
  • Strong technical ability in all aspects of your field of engineering.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of current EN Standards.
  • Experience of client and contractor interaction and engagement.
  • Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to lead others in a multi-disciplinary project team.
  • Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Full driver’s licence.

Senior Project Engineer – Role and Responsibility:

  • This Engineer will join our Roads, Bridges and Marine sector, which is responsible for a wide range of bridge, road and marine, projects throughout Ireland.
  • Project Manage and coordination a team of dedicated consulting engineers, committed to providing bespoke solutions to our clients on a diverse range of projects.
  • Identify and manage project risk and develop solutions, where necessary.
  • Prepare tender submission proposals, client management, and business development.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members.
  • Consultation with regulatory and statutory bodies, when required.
  • Delivering bespoke technical solution to projects, as agreed with the client, while adhering to budget and legislative constraints.
  • Successful management of the client relationship, managing communications, scope change and client expectations.
