Our Client, a leading Construction and Civils contractor are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for civil infrastructure projects across the Tyrone and Northern Ireland. The company in question are one of the fastest growing Civil & Construction contractors in Ireland with a large volume of projects across the Northern Irish region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a experienced and driven individual to join a large contractor where they can progress their career. You will be based full-time in the Tyrone office but will require occasional travel to U.K offices. The ideal candidate should have previous utility and water infrastructure experience. This is a full-time permanent position.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the financial aspects of our construction projects. You’ll be responsible for overseeing subcontractor appointments, preparing tenders and cost estimates, and ensuring projects align with client budgets. In addition, you’ll manage the financial reporting process and collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project success.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the subcontractor appointment process, ensuring efficient selection and engagement.
- Prepare tenders, cost estimates, and quotations, meeting client deadlines and expectations.
- Develop value engineering proposals to align projects with client budgetary requirements.
- Generate monthly cost, value, and reconciliation reports for each assigned project.
- Manage financial recovery in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to align project information, costs, profitability, and value with project objectives and final accounts.
- Vigilantly manage subcontractor accounts in strict accordance with their terms and conditions to meet project demands and timelines.
- Conduct on-site visits to assess completed work, ensure quality standards, and manage project costs.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to project success and overall team performance.
- Exhibit the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet set deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive internal and external working relationships.
Qualifications:
- Third-level degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
- Previous experience in Quantity Surveying, with a preference for experience in Civil Engineering, Water, or Wastewater industries.
- Proficient estimation skills and experience in negotiation for confirming, agreeing, and pricing variations.
- Solid understanding of construction contracts, including NEC3/NEC4.
- Possession of a full clean driving license.
