We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our client’s team, based out of their Galway office. Our client is a the the UK & Ireland’s largest multidisciplinary engineering consultancy working across multiple sectors; providing Civil, Structural, Mechanical & Electrical, Sustainability and Traffic engineering design and consultancy, project management and PSDP services.

The structural engineer is responsible for ensuring that design tasks are executed in accordance with the client’s specifications.

Senior Structural Engineer – Required Skills & Knowledge

• A BEng (Level 8) in Structural Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• A demonstrable 2-3 years of post-graduate experience in structural project design.
• Proficiency in crafting structural engineering solutions with guidance from Senior/Senior Associate Structural Engineers.
• Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of engineering principles.
• Some experience and familiarity with steel and concrete design.
• Previous teamwork experience on structural projects.
• The ability to swiftly establish productive relationships with architects and contractors.
• Knowledge and experience in working on commercial, school, residential, and educational projects.

Senior Structural Engineer – Desired Qualifications & Expertise

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior design experience in the UK/Irish Construction market.
• A bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
• 2-3 years or more of structural design experience in a consultancy, focusing on building-related projects, with a strong understanding of structural design in compliance with Euro codes.
• Proficiency in utilizing Structural Engineering design software such as AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, and Robot (or equivalent).
• Prior involvement in commercial, residential, and educational sectors.
