Site Engineer

Our client is seeking a Site Engineer to join their team in Waterford. Our client is one of the South East’s leading Construction companies. They are promident across Commercial, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Conservation, Fit Outs and Refurbishment, Education, Health, Residential and Retail sectors.

Responsibilities

• Establish work parameters and ensure clear comprehension among foremen and operatives.
• Communicate specifications and drawings to teams, subcontractors, and personnel for clarity.
• Perform material tests per supervisor’s direction and relevant specs.
• Utilize company software, notably Procore, in a proactive manner.
• Maintain a comprehensive site diary documenting daily activities and incidents.
• Proficiently handle setting out tools, including GPS and robotic instruments.
• Report progress to manager, including subcontractor updates.
• Actively pursue personal development and training, meeting work-based program goals.
• Prioritize safety, reporting non-compliance.
• Foster professional relationships with all staff.
• Monitor and maintain setting out instruments and testing gear.
• Contribute to profitability through accurate work and efficiency.
• Attend meetings and follow directives.
• Assist in collecting BCAR information.

Requirements

• Hold a third level qualification in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Possess 2-3 years’ experience in setting out or as a site engineer.
• Prior experience with contractors, subcontractors, or surveying firms preferred.
• Strong grasp of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
• Effective communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, PowerPoint, etc.
• Solid understanding of Ground works and Irish Water processes
