Our client is a leading company in the steel industry, based in Wexford. They are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their growing team.


  • Generate monthly reports comparing invoiced/ordered figures against budget and forecast until project completion.
  • Execute quantity surveyor duties as directed on various projects.
  • Ensure the attainment of the optimal commercial return for steel projects.
  • Assist in the development of subcontractor scope of works and contract agreements.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers on the commercial aspects of each project.
  • Produce precise cost/value reconciliation reports.
  • Ensure sub-contract orders adhere to company procedures and contract programs.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts for individual projects and the overall company.
  • Assess and cost all variations in collaboration with the Project Manager, construction manager, and engineer.
  • Adhere to all contractual timescales and issue notifications accordingly.
  • Maintain a risk-assessed variation schedule and obtain instructions for each variation as per the contract.
  • Prepare and submit periodic progress valuations in collaboration with the Project Manager, submitting them for client approval.
  • Collaborate on the preparation, submission, and negotiation of the project’s final account with the Project Manager.



  • 2 years + experience, ideally in the steel sector.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience working on medium/large complex construction projects.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Project.
