Our client, is currently on the lookout for a Traffic Engineer to join their team in Dublin. The company in question are a well established Multidisciplinary Engineering Consultancy that are projecting rapid growth this year. The successful candidate will join our clients well-established and growing Roads & Transportation Team working on a variety of projects. This is a full time, permanent position, with great scope for career progression.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with an established civil engineering team to contribute to a wide range of infrastructure projects at various stages of development.
- Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies to assess the viability and potential impact of proposed projects, considering factors such as environmental sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
- Utilize your analytical skills and experience to perform detailed designs, ensuring the optimal use of resources, adherence to engineering standards, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Collect and analyze data related to traffic and transport, employing various methods such as traffic surveys, modeling, and statistical analysis to gain insights into existing and projected transportation patterns.
- Build and review transport models using industry-standard modeling tools, applying your expertise to accurately simulate and predict traffic flow, congestion levels, and travel times.
- Plan and evaluate future transport schemes, considering factors such as population growth, urban development, and emerging transportation technologies, and develop associated business cases to support decision-making processes.
- Review and interpret drawings, documents, transport assessments, and travel plans, ensuring compliance with design standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Proactively identify and resolve design issues, leveraging your creative and logical thinking skills to propose innovative solutions that optimize project outcomes.
- Prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, bids, and proposals to communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
- Actively participate in meetings, workshops, and multidisciplinary collaborations, effectively conveying technical information, contributing to discussions, and collaborating with professionals from diverse backgrounds.
- Foster a proactive learning environment within the team, sharing knowledge, mentoring junior engineers, and staying updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements.
Requirements
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, preferably with a post-graduate degree.
- Have a minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar role after graduation.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and solid communication and IT skills.
- Have hands-on experience in Active Travel, Transportation, Planning & Road Design projects.
- Proficient in using modeling tools such as ARCADY, PICADY, OSCADY, and/or TRANSYT.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is desirable.
- Have knowledge and experience in road safety auditing.
