Sonas Technical are working with one of Ireland’s leading Mechanical, Electrical & Maintenance Contracting Companies on their recruitment of an Electrical Project Engineer to join their team in Dublin. Our client has established themselves as a leading multi-disciplined company and operate across a wide range of business sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Data Centres, Healthcare, and large Commercial Projects.

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure alignment with relevant standards and industry guides.
  • Implement installations in accordance with project specifications and the QA plan, maintaining pre-agreed benchmarking.
  • Develop alternative engineering solutions, complete with detailed calculations and sketches, seeking client approval.
  • Familiarize yourself with Design/IFC specifications and drawings to grasp the project scope, ensuring compliance and schedule adherence. Manage Requests for Information (RFI) for client communication.
  • Utilize engineering software tools like Dialux or Relux, Amtech Pro Design, Navisworks, BIM 360, Procore, or equivalent.
  • Review co-ordinated construction drawings, prepare technical submittals for client approval, and assess specialist supplier packages for compliance.
  • Take charge of the procurement schedule in collaboration with the procurement team.
  • Review BCAR preliminary inspection plans and coordinate with the quality team. Monitor LEED and BREEAM requirements as directed.


  • Hold a Level 7/8 Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Services Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Preferably possess 3+ years of experience in a similar industry.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Strong time management and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively in a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of making decisions under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of current electrical, fire alarm, and emergency lighting standards within Ireland.
