Sonas Technical are currently recruiting for an Estimator to work for a global billion euro EPCM firm. Our client has a preference for a permanent hire, the successful person will receive a strong renumeration package and be based in South Dublin.

- Our client a Global EPCM firm, (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management), are currently on the lookout for an Estimator to work on major projects in the manufacturing, food & beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
- The successful person will join a client facing main contractor who operates predominately in the industrial GMP Environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the project and complete the estimate from start to finish
- Taking receipt of the tender documentation, preparing the project overview identifying the scope required and the tender returns required.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, tender agenda and all other documentation to ascertain the work elements need to be measured and priced for inclusion in the Bill of Quantities.
- Obtain quotation from the local market from vendors or subcontractors.
- Examining these quotations for scope gaps and variances and inputting correct figures into the bid.
- Work with construction team to obtain rates reflecting actual costs on previous projects, and lessons learned from previous projects.
- Schedule these changes and apply rates for updated/revised tender bid submissions.
- Assist with any value engineering proposals by identifying and providing costs for same.
- Time is of the essence in preparing Bill of Quantities, so it is essential the candidate can demonstrate this competency using approximate quantities and composite rates where necessary.
- Involved in full tender process from beginning to completion.
- Liaising with relevant parties on an on-going basis.
Key Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
- 5+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying/Estimating role
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under strict deadlines essential
- Excellent communication and time management
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business
