Estimator | EPCM | Industrial Projects

Sonas Technical are currently recruiting for an Estimator to work for a global billion euro EPCM firm. Our client has a preference for a permanent hire, the successful person will receive a strong renumeration package and be based in South Dublin.

Company Overview:

• Our client a Global EPCM firm, (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management), are currently on the lookout for an Estimator to work on major projects in the manufacturing, food & beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
• The successful person will join a client facing main contractor who operates predominately in the industrial GMP Environments.
• Our client is looking for a permanent hire.
• Opportunity to join a multi billion company breaking out in the Irish and European markets with Ireland as their HQ.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the project and complete the estimate from start to finish
• Taking receipt of the tender documentation, preparing the project overview identifying the scope required and the tender returns required.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, tender agenda and all other documentation to ascertain the work elements need to be measured and priced for inclusion in the Bill of Quantities.
• Obtain quotation from the local market from vendors or subcontractors.
• Examining these quotations for scope gaps and variances and inputting correct figures into the bid.
• Work with construction team to obtain rates reflecting actual costs on previous projects, and lessons learned from previous projects.
• Schedule these changes and apply rates for updated/revised tender bid submissions.
• Assist with any value engineering proposals by identifying and providing costs for same.
• Time is of the essence in preparing Bill of Quantities, so it is essential the candidate can demonstrate this competency using approximate quantities and composite rates where necessary.
• Involved in full tender process from beginning to completion.
• Liaising with relevant parties on an on-going basis.

Key Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
• 5+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying/Estimating role
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under strict deadlines essential
• Excellent communication and time management
• Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business
