Our client, a leading Irish supplier to the international pharma industry are seeking a highly-skilled Sales Support Engineer to join their team at their Dublin campus.
Role Overview:
The Sales Support Engineer’s main area of responsibility will be the technical ownership of new projects and will provide technical leadership on any project issues in line with business strategies and objectives. They will be responsible for the smooth flow of both technically and commercially approved projects and ensure each project is well documented in order to hand over to the next stage of the process.
Key Duties:
· Cross functional technical role primarily dealing with Blister Tooling Enquiries
· Play an important technical support role in the developmental stage of new projects
· Oversee all technical aspects of new enquiries including initial blister design & checks based on the customer’s individual packaging SKU/format requirement
· Carry out, control & document results of feasibility studies & tests to identify and manage risks throughout the project development process
· Define the scope of supply & minimum tooling requirement for each individual project & blister packaging format
· Participate in planning / specification meetings with Customers
· Generate detailed quotations using MRP system
· Establish preliminary project approach & participate in weekly planning meetings with the Project Development Team to review upcoming projects
· Oversee project handover to the Design Team ensuring key deliverables are met
· Work together with off site sales offices globally to ensure that we are gathering the correct technical specification and meeting with their requirements
Competencies Required:
· Background in Mechanical Engineering
· Experience working with an MRP/ERP System
· Excellent written & verbal communication skills
· Strong problem solving, analytical & decision making skills
· Demonstrated technical learning aptitude
· Proven ability to work well as part of a team & on own with minimum supervision
· Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and standards
· Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel & Access
· Meticulous attention to detail & strong technical presentation skills
· Self-motivated and resourceful with Proven record of delivering against set goals
· Some commercial experience an advantage
· 1-2 years Solidworks experience essential
