Our client, who are becoming a well known in the Solar Installation sector are currently seeking a financial accountant for their offices in Waterford. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly expanding company with excellent progression potential.
- Assume a leadership role, providing guidance and supervision within the finance department.
- Offer strategic and practical recommendations to the Managing Director and senior executives.
- Contribute to the development of tactical and strategic plans related to business operations and finances.
- Oversee financial forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring the creation of comprehensive annual operational budgets covering revenues, direct costs, overheads, and resource planning.
- Implement robust financial controls and reporting systems to enhance efficiency.
- Manage monthly management accounts and conduct variance analysis, along with monitoring operational key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Apply prudent revenue recognition policies and deliver regular revenue assurance reports, including sales pipeline, backlog, and purchase orders.
- Collaborate with the sales team during bid reviews and negotiations to optimize deal profitability.
- Provide legal support during contract negotiations, coordinating with external legal counsel.
- Effectively manage cash flow and forecast working capital requirements.
- Prepare statutory accounts and liaise with auditors for audits and corporate taxation matters.
- Proactively support the Managing Director and Senior Management Team by providing accurate and timely financial information, reviewing KPIs, and offering commercial insights for decision-making.
- Assist the business during periods of change and growth, overseeing corporate finance, debt, taxation, equity, and potential acquisitions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies, such as PAYE, VAT, CSO, and CRO returns.
- Develop and implement corporate taxation strategies to minimize tax exposure in local and overseas jurisdictions
- Enthusiastic and qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- 5 years of practical experience
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent analytical, technical, and IT skills
- Extensive management experience with a proactive and hands-on approach
- Proficient time management, organization, and prioritization abilities
- Preferred experience in the services/software/technology industry, particularly the telecom sector
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Effective problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach
- Proficiency in accounts preparation and business analysis
- Previous experience in implementing accounting systems is advantageous
- Attention to detail and multitasking capabilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Knowledge of Accounting & ERP packages implementation and finance systems development
- Previous experience in a high-growth or multinational company is a plus
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge and modeling skills are essential
