Civil Structural Design Coordinator

Our client is seeking a Civil Structural Design Coordinator to join their team in Limerick. Our client is a leading global Provider of Specialist Design, Engineering and Construction Services across a variety of key sectors including Data Centres, Renewables and Transmission and Distribution Utilities.

Requirements

• Competent in co-ordinating complex design activities between owners, owner’s engineers, internal design/construction teams, and sub-designers.
• Competent in manging design scope, quality and project timelines required to achieve contract milestones.
• Competent in reviewing detailed construction drawings of reinforced concrete elements like foundations, column, beams, walls, slab, staircase., etc.
• Experience of all project phases from planning through to construction and operation/maintenance.
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary project team to deliver industrial/commercial projects.
• Knowledge of a broad range of civil engineering fields (SuDS/drainage, roads/transport, concrete, steel, masonry, geotechnics, utilities, etc) would be a distinct advantage; however, it is not necessary to have technical expertise in all of these areas.
• Experience interacting with International clients.
• Project management experience from a design perspective, or in D&B projects with a contractor.
• Knowledge of commercial aspects of infrastructure projects is a bonus.
• Experience in the HV electrical industry is a bonus.
• The role may require short-term attendance on site or in design workshops (in Ireland or internationally, as required)

Skills

•  5 to 10 years broad-based experience in civil and structural consultancy and/or site-based construction.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a preference for verbal communication and management.
• Understand/Read sections, elevation and plan drawings of masonry, steel and concrete buildings, drainage, roadworks.
• Should be able to communicate in English and be proficient in writing technical reports.
• Full clean driving licence
