Commissioning Manager

Our client is seeking a Commissioning Manager to join their team in Aylesford. Our client is a leading global Provider of Specialist Design, Engineering and Construction Services across a variety of key sectors including Data Centres, Renewables and Transmission and Distribution Utilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commissioning activities on the project site, including setup, supervision, and finalization of the Commissioning plan.
• Lead a team of commissioning and testing personnel on-site.
• Direct the Commissioning Tagging process and associated procedures.
• Provide regular progress updates on Commissioning activities internally and externally.
• Chair weekly commissioning meetings and guide tasks.
• Attend meetings with Main Contractor and clients, delivering progress reports.
• Collaborate with project planners to establish the Project commissioning schedule.
• Manage “Lock Out – Tag Out” processes.
• Oversee Area Control Permits issuance for controlled areas, particularly Electrical Switch rooms.
• Compile Testing and Commissioning Documentation and verify results.
• Manage the Project Commissioning Schedule alongside other trades, Package Leads, and Client requirements.
• Track testing and commissioning personnel and issue labor allocation Tracker sheets.
• Supervise on-site commissioning operations.
• Monitor sub-contractor activities and hold weekly documented meetings.
• Oversee commissioning-related snagging and ensure timely issue closure.
• Participate in various project meetings and facilitate issue resolution.
• Implement a weekly lookahead plan for coordination with vendors and trades.
• Issue internal weekly progress reports with completion percentages and risk elements.
• Foster professional relationships with General Contractor, Client, and third-party commissioning Teams.

Requirements

• Engineering degree and minimum 5 years’ commissioning manager experience, preferably in industrial projects.
• Comprehensive expertise in Mechanical and Electrical systems of Data Centres.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations and European standards.
• Proficient in Integrated Systems Testing and digital documentation management.
• Organizational skills for task prioritization and meeting project constraints.
• Excellent communication skills for reports and interactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Effective client and vendor interaction for adherence to specifications and timely commissioning.
• Delegation and leadership capabilities.
• Thrives in collaborative environments with strong interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional time management capabilities.
