Our client, an industry leading civil and utilities company are seeking an Electrical Construction Manager for a large scale project in the Midlands.
This position requires a combination of technical expertise in electrical systems, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate various aspects of construction.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning:
- Develop and implement project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of electrical contractors, subcontractors, and construction personnel.
- Provide guidance and direction to ensure project goals are met efficiently.
- Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial constraints.
- Monitor expenses, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Coordinate with different teams to manage workflow and avoid delays.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
- Implement and oversee quality control processes to deliver high-quality work.
- Safety Compliance:
- Enforce and promote safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
- Monitor and address safety concerns and incidents promptly.
- Communication:
- Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders, team members, and clients.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
- Problem Solving:
- Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the construction process.

- Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
- Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
- Project Management:
- Proven experience in managing electrical construction projects from initiation to completion.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Leadership:
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to motivate and guide team members to achieve project goals.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
