Our client, an industry leading civil and utilities company are seeking an Electrical Construction Manager for a large scale project in the Midlands.

This position requires a combination of technical expertise in electrical systems, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate various aspects of construction.


  1. Project Planning:
    • Develop and implement project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, and deliverables.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and manage a team of electrical contractors, subcontractors, and construction personnel.
    • Provide guidance and direction to ensure project goals are met efficiently.
  3. Budget Management:
    • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial constraints.
    • Monitor expenses, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
  4. Scheduling:
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
    • Coordinate with different teams to manage workflow and avoid delays.
  5. Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure adherence to industry standards, codes, and project specifications.
    • Implement and oversee quality control processes to deliver high-quality work.
  6. Safety Compliance:
    • Enforce and promote safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
    • Monitor and address safety concerns and incidents promptly.
  7. Communication:
    • Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders, team members, and clients.
    • Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
  8. Problem Solving:
    • Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the construction process.
    • Implement proactive solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
  9. Contract Management:
    • Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Ensure that all parties are meeting contractual obligations.
  10. Client Relations:
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
    • Manage client expectations and communicate project milestones.

The Ideal Candidate:

  1. Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  2. Technical Expertise:
    • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
    • Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
  3. Project Management:
    • Proven experience in managing electrical construction projects from initiation to completion.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  4. Leadership:
    • Effective leadership and team management skills.
    • Ability to motivate and guide team members to achieve project goals.
  5. Communication:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  6. Problem-Solving:
    • Analytical mindset and the ability to identify and address issues promptly.
    • Proactive approach to problem-solving.
  7. Safety Consciousness:
    • Deep commitment to safety standards and protocols.
    • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.

  10. Professional Certification:
    • Relevant certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM), may be advantageous.
