Currently, my client are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their engineering team, focusing on high voltage projects. In this role, you will work with a design team on various multi-disciplinary Transmission & Distribution projects, both domestically and internationally.
The Lead Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering design elements for one or more concurrent projects, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee electrical project requirements to ensure resource allocation is efficient.
- Assign and coordinate tasks for Electrical Engineers to meet project milestones.
- Collaborate closely with civil designers to align with electrical equipment requirements.
- Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) with utility providers and client owners’ engineers.
- Manage electrical and civil design logs received from utility providers and client owners’ engineers.
- Supervise the submission of design packs to utility providers and client owners’ engineers.
- Prepare procurement specifications for primary equipment, including HV power transformers, HV circuit breakers, HV switchgear, and NERs.
- Review supplier documents and schematics to ensure compliance with technical and functional specifications.
- Approve physical HV layouts, electrical systems, secondary control and protection systems, and single-line diagrams.
- Approve HV system studies, encompassing protection coordination, voltage regulation, load flow, and fault level reports.
- Attend meetings with utility providers and client owners’ engineers as necessary.
Requirements:
- Honors Electrical Engineering Degree.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within an HV contractor or utility.
- Proficiency in design software such as ETAP, Eplan, and AutoCAD.
- Strong people management and communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive team player who demonstrates a high level of initiative.
