Our client, is currently on the lookout for a Junior Estimator to join their team in Galway. Our client are a Electrical Contractor dealing with all things Appliances, Electrical, and Electronics Manufacturing related. Specializing in mainly commercial and industrial projects. Our client are working nationwide across commercial and industrial projects and are seeking an ambitious Estimator to join their team. This is a full time, permanent position, with great scope for career progression.
- Assisting in the preparation of pre-qualification submissions by gathering relevant information, reviewing documents, and ensuring compliance with submission requirements.
- Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions by coordinating the collection of necessary documents, compiling accurate and detailed information, and ensuring timely submission.
- Procuring labor and material prices for tenders by conducting research, obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, and analyzing cost data.
- Preparing sub-contractor packages for tenders by organizing documentation, communicating requirements to subcontractors, and ensuring all necessary information is included.
- Accessing labor, material, and sub-contract prices by maintaining relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, staying updated on market trends, and negotiating competitive pricing.
- Measuring from drawings to accurately quantify materials and resources required for tender pricing.
- Populating tender pricing documents with detailed and accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overheads.
- Assisting in the preparation of project handover documentation, ensuring all necessary information is compiled and transferred to the project team for seamless transition from tender to execution phase.
- Performing any other ad hoc duties as required to support the tendering and project management processes.
- Third level qualification in construction, quantity surveying, or a related field, providing a solid foundation of knowledge and skills.
- Good electrical background knowledge is favorable, as it enhances understanding of project requirements and specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to effectively organize and analyze data, prepare reports, and communicate information.
- Strong administration experience, demonstrating attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Good numerical ability, with the capability to accurately calculate and analyze cost estimates, quantities, and measurements.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration within a team environment and clear communication of tender-related information.
- Computer literacy is essential to navigate relevant software and tools used in tendering processes.
- Experience in the construction or related industry is advantageous but not essential, as on-the-job training and learning opportunities can compensate for lack of specific industry experience.
