Our client, a leading energy provider, are seeking a Transport & Installation Specialist to support their Offshore Wind Farm Team.

The role is on a contract basis for a duration of 1 year with option for future extension. This position offers potential for hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead, coordinate, and assist in the development and evaluation of project T&I engineering, including input for foundation designs and consenting activities.
  • Take charge of developing Transport & Installation (T&I) strategies for individual projects, encompassing design, planning, and cost definition.
  • Draft technical scope of work documents for T&I activities and offer support to other engineering disciplines as necessary.
  • Evaluate technical proposals for port facilities, offshore contractors, and specialized equipment and installation methods.
  • Spearhead the creation of technical support for offshore installation campaign planning, covering environmental conditions, operation durations, and associated limits.
  • Identify key T&I project risks and design issues, communicate them to project management teams, and aid in implementing and monitoring risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to realize and enhance the Transport & Installation strategic vision, involving consenting, design, logistics, construction, supply chain, procurement, and innovation.
  • Participate in technical Tender Evaluation and Supplier Selection processes aligned with project and shareholder procurement requirements and provide support for the development of Project Design envelopes.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of seven years’ professional experience required, with at least three years in a T&I related role.
  • Formal qualification in Engineering or a related field essential, with demonstrated experience in T&I engineering, preferably in OSW, Oil & Gas, or maritime sectors. Transferable experience from other industries may be considered.
  • Comprehensive understanding of offshore windfarm construction and logistics activities expected.
  • Proactive attitude necessary, with proven ability to effectively interface and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in a solution-oriented manner to support decision-making.

Desirable Criteria

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering at Level 9 attained.
  • Achieved chartered status from a recognized professional institution.
  • Possess a Project Management qualification.
